Album campaign for Ulrike Haage (Deutscher Jazzpreis winner, 2003).
The white/black slipcase/digipak combination characterises the tonal duality in Haage’s music. A rich texture was added to the colour by printing images and black areas over a metallic gold.

Promo for Blotto Design's experimental project of printing an entire book on a poster (70 x 100 cm). Co-ordinates of certain phrases within the text were plotted, and then filmed with a microscopic camera mounted onto a
CNC machine, which travelled along
the programmed route over the poster, creating the illusion that the fully functioning self-built robot is reading
the text of its own accord.

Werbefilm für Blotto Design’s ‚All The World's A Page’ Experiment, dem der Druck eines vollständigen Buchtexts auf einem Poster (70 x 100 cm) zugrunde liegt. Nach Plotten der Koordinaten diverser bekannter Satzteile aus dem Poster wurden diese von einer auf eine CNC-Maschine montierten Mikroskopkamera abgefahren. So entsteht der Eindruck, dass der eigens für diese Produktion gefertigte, funktionstüchtige Roboter die Texte selber liest.

Illustration. CMYK inks were replaced with fluor equivalents, giving colour more vibrancy. Gold foil was applied to the blade edge.

Innovation Awards

The copy for the Innovation Awards poster was die cut from board and embossed into vinyl. Removable stickers had been pre-cut into the vinyl creating
a sheet of random symbols. Visitors were then encouraged to peel the stickers off from four different coloured posters and re-create at random their own innovative scenarios.

Whilst showcasing Spencer’s photography, a search and tag system was integrated into the site without being shy of covering parts of his work with navigational elements, unapologetic typography, a bold stripy motif and “breaking news ticker”.

A Dialogue

A conversation between two computers, visualising the deterioration of a working system. One computer was instructed to read a verse aloud whilst the other transcribed it through voice recognition and vice versa. The process was repeated until Andrew Marvell’s poem “A Dialogue between the Soul and Body” had been completely re-written by the computers.

Ein Gespräch zwischen zwei Computern. Dargestellt wird der Verfall eines Arbeitssytems: Einem Computer wird aufgetragen per Spracherkennungs-software einen von einem weiteren Computer vorgelesenen Text niederzuschreiben.

Dieser Prozess wird so oft wiederholt, bis der Text, Andrew Marvells Gedicht „A Dialogue between the Soul and Body”, vollständig neu verfasst worden ist.

In order to create random fun at the Free Range Design exhibition's opening night, 400 words were printed onto A2 paper and displayed. When tearing a page away a coherent but meaningless and unpredictable sentence was revealed. It was well received.

Clotho spun the thread of life. Lachesis measured the thread allotted to each person and Atropos cut it. She chose the manner of each person’s death and when their time had come.

A Static Sound

Circuit-bent musical instruments are plugged into the AV channel of a TV to trigger static samples for each sound they play. In collaboration with Tom Bonynge.

Mit Hilfe von Circuit-Bending werden Klänge auf Instrumenten erzeugt, die an dem AV Kanal eines alten Fernsehers angeschlossen sind und die mit jedem Klang statische Samples im Fernseher auslösen.
